Privacy policy

TrueBoot is an Australian business bound by the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth) and the Australian Privacy Principles. This page says plainly what we collect, why, where it goes and how to get it removed.
What we collect
- Waitlist: the email address you type into the "Join the beta" form. Nothing else — no name, no tracking.
- Beta app: the player name you enter, the kicking videos you upload, and everything the analysis produces from them (tracked body positions, measurements, scores, coach's notes). A beta login cookie (see Cookies).
- Email you send us: whatever you choose to write.
We collect only what the service needs. We don't buy data about you, don't build advertising profiles and don't run analytics scripts on this site.
Why
- To analyse your kicks and show you the results — the whole point of the product.
- To invite you to the beta and tell you when things change (waitlist).
- To improve the analysis. During the beta we look at how the pipeline performed on uploaded clips (was the contact frame right, did it track the right person). This is done by the people building TrueBoot, on your clips, for that purpose only.
Where your data goes
- Your videos and results are stored on servers we control. They are not published, sold or shared. They are never used in marketing, the website, or shown to other users without your explicit written permission.
- Coach's notes are written by an AI model (Anthropic's Claude). The model receives the measurements from your kick — angles, timings, scores and their confidence — not your video, your name or your email.
- Fonts on the public site load from Google Fonts, which means your browser requests them from Google and Google sees your IP address. The beta app itself does not load third-party scripts.
- Email is handled through Google Workspace.
We don't use tracking pixels, advertising networks, or social-media embeds.
Cookies
The beta app sets one cookie, beta_auth, so you stay signed in. It is strictly necessary for the app to work, contains no personal data, and is not used for tracking — which is why there is no cookie banner. The public website sets no cookies.
How long we keep it
Videos and results stay while your beta account is active so you can look back over sessions. You can delete any kick, session or player yourself in the app, and it's gone from our storage. Waitlist emails are deleted when the beta ends or when you ask. We may keep de-identified measurement statistics (no video, no name) to calibrate the scoring.
Your rights
You can ask to see what we hold about you, correct it, or have it deleted, at any time: hello@trueboot.com.au. We'll respond within 30 days. If you're not happy with how we've handled a complaint you can contact the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner.
Children
Footy players are often under 18. If a club or parent uploads a junior's kicks, the adult running the account is responsible for having the player's (and their parent's) consent. Tell us at any time and we'll delete a junior's data.
Security
Access to the beta is by passcode; data is stored on systems only the TrueBoot team can reach. No system is perfectly secure; if a breach ever affects your data we'll tell you and, where required, the OAIC.
Changes
If this policy changes materially we'll update the date above and, for beta users, say so in the app.
